The Michigan State University Center for Neurodevelopmental Study was founded by Dr. Margaret Semrud-Clikeman in August 2007. Located in the department of Psychiatry in the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Human Medicine, the center is multidisciplinary.
Faculty from the Departments of Psychology, Psychiatry and Radiology form the core faculty with collaborative work across many MSU departments occurring..Advanced docoral students also participate in Center research activities.
Our Mission
The mission of the Center is to apply cutting edge neuroimaging techniques to help further our understanding of childhood neurodevelopmental disorders, such as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders, and learning disabilities. To that end, our research involves functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), as well as state-of-the-art neuropsychological assessment. We believe that neuropsychological assessment provides an opportunity to join in a therapeutic relationship with the child and parents to map out appropriate interventions.
